Last Friday, five members of our team spent the night sleeping outside Manchester Cathedral to raise money and awareness for our chosen charity the Booth Centre.

Amongst hundreds of people who were also taking part in the annual event, our colleagues spent the evening and the following morning taking part in the annual Manchester Sleepout 2018.

So far, we’ve raised £870 for the charity, a donation which sits alongside other contributions from the fundraising activities we’ve held at the TU – including a recent bonfire themed quiz in aid of the charity.

Alex Heritage, Chief Executive of the TU, said: “Although it was just for one night, I hope that our involvement in the Manchester Sleepout raises more awareness of the excellent work that is going on at the Booth Centre.

“Homelessness is a complex problem to tackle and we are committed to continue to provide our support and donations to help.”

The event has already raised over £100,000 which will help the Booth Centre to fund hot showers, advice, nutritious meals and activities programme alongside helping them work towards their vision of achieving a “home for everyone”.

The JustGiving page for donations is still open if you would like to give a contribution for the Booth Centre:
