Assistant Director of Financial Restructure & Modelling

Alison trained with PwC in their public sector audit and assurance team, before specialising as finance and data modeller.  Alison has spent the last 13 years working in both health and local government.  She is experienced in all stages of model building: from scoping to post-completion model audit.  Her areas of expertise include: service reconfiguration modelling and modelling the cost of nursing and residential home care.

Before joining the NHS Transformation Unit, Alison was the Data and Analytics lead for Mazars’ Health Advisory Team.  She has led on the modelling and analytics strands for a number of high profile national reviews.  These included: the Department of Health’s Funded Nursing Care review and an NHS England commissioned independent review of deaths of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Why are you passionate about the NHS?

I’m fiercely proud of our NHS.  For me, free health care at the point of use should be a basic human right in the 21st century.  The NHS faces many challenges, but I feel immensely privileged to be helping tackle some of these.
