Improving outcomes for patients and reducing variation in care is one of the biggest challenges facing the NHS today.
So make sure you come and hear how we are making this happen in two key sessions at this year’s NICE conference in Liverpool.
Our first session tells the story of Healthier Together, a trailblazing service transformation programme in Greater Manchester driven by the NHS Transformation Unit.
Hear from two of those at the heart of this ground-breaking process, NHS Transformation Unit’s Deputy Chief Executive, Alex Heritage and Dr Jane Eddleston, Chief Medical Advisor for Healthier Together.
Healthier Together involved a major public consultation on some of the key changes to be made to NHS services under Manchester’s plans for devolution, covering a population of 2.7 million people across 10 local authorities, 12 CCGs, 15 NHS trusts and NHS England and eight Foundation Trusts in Greater Manchester.
The consultation included 450 engagement events and more than 200,000 consultation documents sent to hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies, Sure Start Centres, places of worship, libraries and events, generating hundreds of media articles and thousands of website hits.
The unanimous decision following the consultation was successfully defended at judicial review and implementation of the programme has now started across Greater Manchester.
Now the NHS Transformation Unit, with our unique mix of skills, expertise and experience from across the public, private and voluntary sectors, with values rooted firmly in the NHS, is helping to drive health and care transformation across the country.
The NHS Transformation Unit’s Head of Programme and Project Management, Jen Parsons, also features as a speaker at NICE 2017 where she will tell the story of how patient experience was central to the transformation of oesophago-gastric cancer surgery services in Greater Manchester.
Jen will discuss our innovative approach to engagement and the co-design of new world-class clinical and patient standards.
Come and listen to our team speak at the NICE Conference 2017 from 11.30 on Thursday 18th May.
